How to calculate the moisture content of a product?

At Steripure, mastering the moisture content of our products is essential to ensuring their quality and preservation. That’s why we recently integrated a new desiccator from PCE Instruments into our analysis laboratory. This high-performance tool allows us to accurately measure the moisture content of our products.

Why measure moisture?

Moisture content is directly linked to product preservation and its physical properties. Thanks to precise measurements, we can adjust our processes to optimize the durability and quality of the treated raw materials.

How does our PCE Instruments desiccator work?

The desiccator we use is designed to measure sample moisture through thermal drying. The process is simple:

  • Initial weighing: The sample is weighed before analysis.
  • Controlled drying: The device gradually heats the sample to evaporate the water.
  • Final weighing: Once drying is complete, the sample is weighed again.
  • Automatic moisture calculation: The desiccator determines the mass loss due to evaporation and deduces the moisture content.

Increased precision for optimal control

Thanks to this equipment, we obtain fast and precise results, allowing us to adjust our processes in real time. The use of the PCE Instruments desiccator is therefore a real asset in ensuring the compliance and safety of our products.

We thank PCE Instruments for their collaboration and support, and we invite you to explore their full range of measuring instruments on their official website.
